Under the Consumer Protection Act, 1988 various Consumer Redressal Forums have been established across the country to entertain the complaint filed by the aggrieved consumers against the vendors, in relation to deficiency in the goods sold or the service render by them. On State level State Consumer Redressal Commissions have been established to entertain the Appeals against the order passed by the District Consumer Forums or to entertain the complaint in which the subject matter of the complaint is at higher side and beyond the jurisdiction of District Consumer Forums. National Consumer Redressal Commissions have been established in New Delhi, which has the jurisdiction to entertain Appeals and Revisions against the order and judgments passed by the State Consumer Commissions.
